Protan Roof
challenge
After working on several projects with the Sovini Group over the past couple of years, AAC Waterproofing successfully tendered for the flat roofing work on the new build of 46 affordable and attractive apartments in Birkenhead.
The apartments will benefit from communal amenity space and good access to public transport.
our approach
The 1200 Sqm roof is installed with a vapour control layer that is loose laid over the timber deck and insulated with 140mm thick foil-faced insulation that is mechanically fixed.
We identified the PVC membrane Protan as the ideal solution due to the fantastic finish it provides with the standing seam as some parts of the membrane will be visible from the street.
the result
We are still on-site, with work to be completed on the dormers and the standing seam.
Once finished, our work will be independently verified by an electronic integrity test to ensure that the roof is fully waterproof before being signed off by the membrane manufacturer.
On completion, the project comes with a 20-year guarantee.
