What is SPRA?
In a nutshell – The Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) ensures that clients obtain high-quality polymer-based single play roofing, through a partnership of quality assured manufacturers and contractors.
They do this by designing a guide which is prepared by the Technical Committee of the SPRA which comprises representation from all membership categories (Membrane manufacturers, Associate manufacturers and Service Providers and Contractors.
Based on extensive research and over thirty-five years’ experience in the UK, it is the current industry view of best practice in the design, selection of materials, installation and maintenance of single-ply roofing systems and includes reference to all relevant European and British Standards as appropriate.
What are SPRAs objectives?
Their guide is intended to:
- Set a standard for the single ply roofing industry.
- Encourage the client to set performance criteria against which the design can be developed and reviewed.
- Assist the decision-making process in the design of a roof system based upon polymeric single-ply waterproofing membranes.
- Provide the designer with technical information that, together with manufacturers’ advice and published Regulations and Standards will be sufficient for the design of a single-ply roof.
